Stem & Leaf tutorial

What do I have to do?:
Find 2 sets of statistical data about a topic that interests you.
Create back to back box and whiskers plots.
Create back to back stem and leaf plots.
Explain and compare the graphs.

What are the specifics?:
  1. Find 2 sets of statistics about a topic that interests you. You must include a link to the source of your data in your final product.
  2. Select 2 sets of data set of at least 15 numbers from your chosen source. (More is okay.)
  3. Find the mean, median, and mode for each set of data.
  4. Create a double box & whiskers with your set of data that accurately shows the range, quartiles, and interquartile range. Write a paragraph explaining the data using these words MEDIAN, QUARTILES, RANGE, AND INTERQUARTILE RANGE. Compare the data to each other.
  5. Create a back to back stem and leaf plot of the data and explain the pros and cons to this plot verses a box and whiskers plot.

Where can I find data?
The following websites are good sources of statistical data. You are welcome to look elsewhere if you want.

How can I display my data?

How will I be graded on this?
